Our menus are created with seasonality and locality in mind and feature the best produce Yorkshire has available. We update them on a monthly basis to reflect what is best at any time of the year.
Wines and cask ales are well looked after (we hold the Cask Marque) and we offer an eclectic cocktail list, which we also update on a seasonal basis.
Sundays are all about our fabulous roast dinners - we reckon you’ll be hard pushed to find one better!
For those with a sense of adventure or indulgence we offer special tasting events such as our Wine Club, Cocktail Masterclasses, Gin Tasting, Cheese and Wine evenings and tasting menus for Yorkshire Day, New Year’s Eve and St Georges Day.
Noun: the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors or strangers (Oxford Dictionary).
We love everything about hospitality - the service, the food, the drink, the music, the environment - which is why we put our efforts into all of these details, in the hope that you’ll love them too.
We love going out with our dogs and know how difficult it can be to have fun when you have to leave pooch in the car, or at home, so here you don’t have to. As well as having a dog free area, we are dog friendly inside and out, with areas to drink and dine comfortably with your dogs. We’ll even provide a blanket for them on the hard floors.

These will be available to purchase from The Thack for just £7.50 - or you could put your name down here and we will reserve you one, two or more! And don’t forget Christmas is around the corner!

A chef and a gardener, brought together by a shared passion for all things food and drink, from the potting shed to the plate. At The Queen o’ t’ owd Thatch we’ve built a place where we can work together and share our love for these things. Whether it’s home-growing ingredients, creating new dishes, revisiting forgotten classics or discovering new pleasures together, this is our own little temple to culinary and horticultural delights. We look forward to welcoming you, sharing our knowledge and passion with you, and helping you have a fabulous time while you’re with us.
We look forward to seeing you soon,
Annie and Kirsty
